963m Ascent | 963m Descent
Starting at Den Duyf Park runners will head to Pemberton Farm E Rd and run along the McKenzie basin access road before heading up Happy Trail.
Happy Trail starts the climbing. So for the climbers it’s your time to shine. At the top of Happy you take the Waco connector which gives a nice respite from the uphill grind until you hit Nimby and the grind resume. After Nimby you take Let it Go till you top out at the lower Paraglide Launch (you’ll be able to replenish yourself here). Now you only have one climb left through the stunning forest which Middle Earth climbs through. We don’t take it all the way to the top as we take a right on Rudy’s trail and start your flight down. The real leg shaking descent is yet to come on Overnight Sensation (don’t miss the views of Mount Currie), runners then finish with Radio Tower and Waterfall (much less demanding then Overnight Sensation) before coming down Mckenzie FSR to the finish. It’s a ripper of a course.
